Angus Genetics Inc. (AGI), a subsidiary of the American Angus Association, was established in 2007 to provide services to the beef industry that assist in the genetic evaluation of economically important traits. Toward that mission, AGI develops and promotes technology for use by the beef industry, including DNA technology.
AGI developed genomic-enhanced expected progeny differences (GE-EPDs) for the Angus breed that are updated on a weekly basis. AGI also conducts research and develops new science and technology to benefit the entire beef business. In addition, AGI provides client-specific genetic evaluation services to various breed organizations in the United States and Canada.
